Irish League of Credit Unions Appoints New CEO

The Irish League of Credit Unions today announced the appointment of Kieron Brennan as its new CEO from May 2008.

A 48 year old Dubliner, Kieron Brennan has extensive experience in financial management and community and business development.

He is currently Programme Manager with POBAL, a not-for-profit company focused on community development and financing which manages programmes on behalf of the Irish Government and the EU.

He was previously Manager Ireland of Triodos Bank (one of Europe’s largest ethical banks), Executive Director of Clann Credo (a social investment fund), Chief Executive of Partas (which supports the development of local enterprise and the social economy) and Programme Evaluator with the European Social Fund Programme Evaluation Unit.

Announcing Kieron Brennan’s appointment, Uel Adair (President, ILCU) said “Kieron’s unique financial and community development background has equipped him well to contribute to the ongoing development of the Irish credit union movement — which this year celebrates 50 years serving communities all over Ireland”.
